The most photographed and renowned geographical spot in Tooele County, the Bonneville Salt Flats has played a major role in the county’s rich history.  Named after Captain B. L. Bonneville, an early military explorer of the west, the salt flats are over 44,000 acres in size and were initially crossed by early traders Jedediah Smith and John Fremont.

Location: Approximately 10 miles northeast of Wendover, Utah after taking Exit 4 on Interstate 80.
