Economic Development Advisory Board
Duties:
The CED Board shall assist and advise the County Legislative body on:
(1) applying for a Rural County Grant under Utah Code Annotated Section 17-54-101, et. seq.;
(2) determining which projects should be funded by grant money;
(3) preparing required reports for grant funding;
(4) recommending ways and means of obtaining private, local, county, state, or federal funds and other participation for the promotion of economic development projects within the county; and
(5) working with county planning and economic development staff, committees, and other community-based groups, as directed by the county commission, on economic issues and projects.
Membership:
The Tooele County Economic Development Advisory Board (“CED” Board) shall be composed in accordance with Utah Code Annotated Section 17-54-101. Members shall be appointed by the Tooele County legislative body within an open public meeting and include no less than:
(a) one representing Tooele County;
(b) three representing municipalities – one from each of the cities of Tooele and Grantsville, as well as one elected among the membership of Tooele County Council of Governments (COG) to represent small townships;
(c) one representing workforce development;
(d) one representing private-sector businesses;
(e) one representing the general public;
(f) one representing the Tooele County Tourism Tax Advisory Board (TTAB);
(g) one representing the Tooele County Association of Realtors (TCAR);
(h) one representing the Tooele County Chamber of Commerce (Chamber);
(i) one representing the local commercial lending or financial industry;
(j) one representing the Tooele County School District (District); and
(k) one representing the U.S. Army.
Terms:
They serve on the Board until expiration of that member’s respective term on the Economic Development Advisory Board, (4 year terms) or until their elected entity position come to an end.
